What is FrostWire

FrostWire is an open source peer-to-peer file sharing client built from the famous LimeWire client that handles Gnutella protocol and BitTorrent protocol. The FrostWired is written by members of the LimeWire open source community.

Uses of FrostWires

FrostWire contains LimeWire’s free version functions, and some of LimeWire Pro’s features On top of that, FrostWire contains no pop-ups, no nag screens, no inhibiting features. User would not get bombarded by ads. In addition, FrostWire users do not have to worry about simultaneous download restrictions.

FrostWire has some new features. It comes with friendly online chatroom. However, certain LimeWire features such as the instant messenger are not available in FrostWire.

FrostWire has enabled TLS encryption for its connection by default. This can be disabled in the preference. You can make more connections using FrostWire now.

FrostWire uses BitTorrent engine developed by Azureus technology. Before this, a simplified version of LimeWire’s BitTorrent engine was used.

You can now share file between your Adroid FrostWire client and deskstop client through wireless connection. You do not have to preconfigure either device. The connection is established automatically if these devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

FrostWire is now compatible with iTune.
